Abstract

The spread of radical ideologies through digital media places senior high school students in an information environment requiring stronger civic values, legal awareness, and critical engagement with digital information. This community service program aimed to analyze participatory legal counseling in strengthening Pancasila values, religious moderation, and digital legal literacy as a preventive approach to radicalism. The program was conducted at MA Alkhairaat Ternate and involved 40 students from Grades X and XI through interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and an evaluative quiz. Data were obtained through observation, documentation, and records of participants’ questions, responses, and answers, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The findings indicate participant engagement during the interactive sessions, while several participants were able to articulate key points concerning diversity, radicalism, and caution in disseminating digital information. The “Filter before Sharing” principle connected digital legal literacy with responsible social media practices. These findings indicate participants’ initial understanding of the materials delivered, but do not constitute a quantitative measure of improved understanding or behavioral change because no pre-test or post-test was employed. Participatory legal counseling can serve as an educational space integrating Pancasila values, religious moderation, and digital legal literacy in preventive efforts against radicalism in schools.
