Publication Fees

APLIKATIF: Journal of Research Trends in Social Sciences and Humanities is an open-access scholarly journal committed to transparent, fair, and accessible academic publishing. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription fees or registration requirements.

To support editorial management, manuscript production, digital publishing, and the dissemination of scholarly research, the journal applies Article Processing Charges (APCs) to accepted manuscripts, subject to the fee exemptions and waiver provisions described below.

1. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The following publication fees apply to manuscripts accepted for publication in APLIKATIF:

APCs are charged only after a manuscript has received a final editorial acceptance decision. Submission and peer review do not require advance payment of publication fees.

2. Submission and Additional Fees

APLIKATIF does not charge manuscript submission fees. Authors are not required to pay for initial editorial screening or the standard peer-review process.

The journal does not offer paid fast-track peer review or paid manuscript acceptance services. All manuscripts follow the journal's established editorial and peer-review procedures.

No additional mandatory publication charges apply beyond the stated APC. Any future changes to publication fees will be publicly announced through the journal's official website.

3. Payment Procedures

Publication fees are payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. The editorial office will provide payment instructions and relevant billing information to the corresponding author following acceptance.

Payment may be arranged by the corresponding author, a co-author, or the author's institution, as appropriate. Authors should follow only the payment instructions officially communicated by the journal.

Manuscripts rejected during initial screening, peer review, or subsequent editorial assessment are not subject to an APC.

4. Waivers and Discounts

APLIKATIF provides publication fee exemptions and may grant additional waivers to support equitable access to scholarly publishing.

4.1. International Affiliation Waiver

A full APC waiver is provided for manuscripts whose corresponding author's primary institutional affiliation is located outside Indonesia. Eligibility is determined by institutional affiliation rather than nationality.

For manuscripts with authors from multiple countries, the corresponding author's primary institutional affiliation determines eligibility under this category.

4.2. Financial Hardship Waiver

Authors who are unable to pay the APC due to financial constraints may request a partial or full fee waiver.

Waiver requests should be submitted to the editorial office, preferably at the time of manuscript submission or before payment instructions are issued.

Requests should include a brief explanation of the financial circumstances supporting the application. The journal may request reasonable additional information when necessary.

Waiver eligibility is assessed separately from the scholarly evaluation of the manuscript. A request for financial assistance does not influence peer-review outcomes or publication decisions.

4.3. Promotional Discounts

The journal may offer temporary promotional discounts or additional publication fee waivers. Any such arrangements will be announced publicly, including their eligibility criteria and applicable period.

5. Refund and Manuscript Withdrawal

APC payments are associated with accepted manuscripts and the journal's publication preparation services.

Refund requests may be considered under the following circumstances:

Duplicate or Incorrect Payment: Verified duplicate payments or billing errors are eligible for reimbursement.
Journal-Initiated Cancellation: If the journal cancels publication before the article is published, any APC already paid will be refunded.
Author-Initiated Withdrawal: Refund requests following withdrawal after acceptance and payment will be assessed individually, taking into account the production work already completed.

Once an article has been published, the APC is generally non-refundable, except in cases of verified duplicate or incorrect payment.

Requests for manuscript withdrawal or refunds must be submitted in writing to the editorial office with the relevant manuscript identification and supporting information.

Post-publication corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are handled under the journal's publication integrity policies rather than through manuscript withdrawal procedures.

6. Editorial Independence

Publication fees do not influence editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated according to their scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, evidentiary adequacy, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with publication ethics.

Decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection are made independently by the responsible editor, informed by the journal's peer-review process and editorial policies.

Payment of an APC does not guarantee publication, preferential editorial treatment, or exemption from the journal's academic and ethical requirements.

Likewise, an author's eligibility for a fee waiver or discount does not influence manuscript evaluation.
